The Sine Nomine Singers are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Musical Director, Daniel Gethin. Daniel will join us in June to prepare for our October concert. We had an exceptionally strong field of 17 candidates for the role and Daniel won us over with his outstanding musicality, energy and warmth. We look forward very much to working with him.
After reading English at Cambridge University, Daniel embarked on a career as a Countertenor and Director, singing first at New College, Oxford as a lay clerk before moving to London, where he sings with St Paul’s Cathedral, Temple Church and Westminster Abbey. He has worked with vocal ensembles such as The Sixteen, EXAUDI, English Concert, Academy of Ancient Music, La Nuova Musica and Ex Cathedra, and has sung for conductors including David Skinner, Laurence Cummings and Eamonn Dougan. He is a member of Vox Medicea, an ensemble founded by the Medici Archive Project which seeks to revive Florentine Polyphony during the era of the Medici family, singing from part-books. He is the Director of Choral Music at Our Most Holy Redeemer Exmouth Market, St Mark’s Myddleton Square and runs his own vocal ensemble, HEXAD Collective. He has also worked for the charity Pimlico Musical Foundation as a Teacher-Singer since its foundation in 2018, combining his love for singing and education.
