In honour of the 40th anniversary of the death of Herbert Howells, we will be singing Evensong at Rochester Cathedral on 10 June 2023. The service starts at 3:15pm

The music list includes Salvator Mundi, which is the opening of Howell’s requiem mass, the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis from his Gloucester Service and the extraordinarily beautiful anthem Take Him Earth for Cherishing.

The psalm chant, preces and responses are also all by Howells.

We wil be accompanied by our founder, Stephen Davies and directed by Jonny Davies, in his last service with us before he and the family relocate to Bristol.
