God's time is the very best time.
In him we live and move and have our being, as long as he wills.
In him we die at the right time, when he wills.

It is the old covenant: man, you must die!

Into your hands I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, Lord, O faithful God.

3b. Arioso (bass) and chorale (alto)

Bass
Today you shall be with me in paradise.

In peace and joy I now depart
as God wills;
my heart and mind are comforted,
calm and still.
As God has promised me,
death has become my sleep.

Glory, praise, honour and majesty
be yours, God the Father and the Son,
and the Holy Spirit by name!
May the power divine
make us victorious
through Jesus Christ. Amen.
